
The International Olympic Committee will require future Olympic hosts to meet new climate-related standards starting in 2030, the organization told Skift, warning that rising temperatures are making the Games harder to stage.
The committee said warming temperatures and declining snowfall are shrinking the number of places that can reliably host the Olympics, particularly the Winter Games, forcing organizers to rethink where and how future events are held.
