Gulf Countries Close Airspace as U.S. and Israel Attack Iran

Key airspace has been closed until further notice following a major escalation in the Middle East. Israel launched a “pre-emptive” attack against Iran on Saturday, and a major United States operation is underway. The Pentagon said the strikes on Iran were named Operation Epic Fury. 

Iran launched retaliatory strikes on U.S. air bases in the Gulf shortly afterwards on Saturday morning.

While widely expected, the escalation has already had an enormous impact on airlines flying to, from, and through the region.
