American Airlines to Return to Venezuela

American Airlines said Thursday it would resume service to Venezuela, becoming the first U.S. carrier to signal interest in returning to the region. 

The carrier said it is “in close contact” with federal authorities and is ready to start flights to Venezuela, pending government approval and security assessments. American did not provide any further detail on the routes it would serve to Venezuela or
