As President Trump ramps up rhetoric around Greenland, the world’s largest island is being thrust into the geopolitical spotlight once again.

Anne Nivíka Grødem, CEO of Visit Greenland, confirmed a “small number of cancellations” tied to the political uncertainty, but said it is too early to determine if the situation will have a lasting impact on travel demand.

“Some travelers are uncertain about how to interpret the broader political context, even though Greenland remains a welcoming and safe destination,” Grødem told Skift in a written interview on January 9. “At the same time, it is too early to draw conclusions about any long-term impact on overall demand.”
