Oberoi Says Delhi AI Summit Is Filling Hotels, Even in Nearby Gurugram

Oberoi Hotels-parent EIH told investors Thursday that demand around the upcoming AI summit in Delhi is spilling into hotels in nearby Gurugram.

The group said big conferences and summits have made the capital unusually tight for rooms. When the city fills up, nearby hotels pick up the overflow. That helps explain why room rates jump sharply during certain weeks.

On the topic of rising prices, CEO and Executive Director Vikram Oberoi said, “This has received quite a lot of negative publicity, as you would have seen in the press. And the Hotel Association of India (HAI) has responded on behalf of all the hotels on this.”
