International travel to the U.S. fell for the eighth straight month in December, with overseas visitation dropping 1.3% to 3.2 million, according to data released Monday by the National Travel and Tourism Office.
That marked a modest improvement from October and November, when visitation fell 3.1% and 3.5%, respectively. But inbound tourism continues to trail pre-pandemic levels, with December arrivals reaching just 92% of 2019 volume.
For the year, overseas visitation fell 2.5% from 2024, according to the NTTO.
The travel industry is counting on several big events in 2026: The U.S. is co-hosting the World Cup with Mexico and Canada
