Ras Al Khaimah is accelerating a push to become a luxury destination, with plans to double its hotel room supply, open a private jet terminal, and use the upcoming Wynn casino resort opening as a global platform to raise the emirate’s profile.
Phillipa Harrison, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, outlined the strategy in a recent interview, describing 2026 as a year focused on brand awareness ahead of a major supply expansion from 2027 to 2029.
“We are well on the way to achieving” the 3.5 million visitor target, Harrison said, noting the destination currently has 8,700 hotel rooms and aims to reach roughly 20,000 by 2030.
The hotel pipeline includes W, Nobu, Fairmont, Nikki Beach, Four Seasons, and The Unexpected, mostly concentrated on Al Marjan Island. SO/ Ras Al Khaimah open
